“The derby was a game that meant a lot to us and we were really fired up,” Darmian told Toro.it.

“Until last season, Toro hadn’t won the derby for 20 years and we knew that was an important opportunity to break the run. It was unforgettable for me to score in a 2-1 victory, especially as I rarely score goals.”

Giampiero Ventura was the Coach at the time and has since moved on to the Italy job.

“I think it’s the right reward for all Ventura has done in his career. I am very happy for him, he’s a great Coach and we know each other very well.

“I’ve never really met Mihajlovic, but he seems a Coach capable of transmitting his ideas to the squad as well as his passion and determination. The team is doing very well and following his instructions.

“I’d love to see Torino beat Juventus again this weekend, but I’d appreciate another ‘gift’ from Toro – seeing them back in Europe at the end of the season.

“This is my desire for the Granata, who I continue to follow closely. After all, they remain in my heart and I wish them every success.”
