Matteo Darmian just joined Parma from Manchester United, but it might not be for long, as Inter reportedly ‘booked’ him for January.

The full-back had been on Inter and Juventus radars for several seasons, but Manchester United always refused to lower their €12m price-tag.

It was therefore something of a surprise when he was allowed to leave for a reported €1.5m on deadline day, although the English media put the sum at closer to €4.5m.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, there is a secret behind the scenes deal between Inter and Parma to send Darmian to San Siro in January.

It would only be activated if Inter were lacking in the right-back department, as first Antonio Conte wants to test the players he has at his disposal.

Darmian is valued for his versatility, able to play on the right or left of defence or midfield, even as a centre-back.

In exchange, Parma would receive young defender Alessandro Bastoni on loan.
