The Brazil defender came off the bench for the injured David Luiz and broke the deadlock in last night’s 4-2 Confederations Cup victory.

“I was dreaming about this,” the Bayern Munich defender told journalists.
“I bought 60 tickets for my family, so there are a lot of people there who came here to see me. I wanted to show them something, show something to my family and to everyone else who came here to see us.”

Dante also had praise for Azzurri striker Mario Balotelli after a remarkable flick to set up Emanuele Giaccherini’s goal.

“Balotelli is one of the greatest centre-forwards in the world. He gets out of the box a lot, so we had to watch out for him.”
