“I saw Sami Khedira at the back post and in my attempt to head it over to him this weird looping trajectory came out. Maybe the hair helped!” he laughed.

“We did well to react after conceding the goal so early. We were so eager to win and I think in the end the victory was deserved.”

This was the Bianconeri’s sixth consecutive victory and in the space of six rounds they’ve gone from 11 points behind Roma to one point above them in fourth place.

“Everything changed after the derby with Torino. After that late winner, our hunger for points got stronger and stronger.

“The idea was to close up on the top spots and get as high up the table as possible. We are doing very well and must maintain this attitude, playing every game as if it was a Final.”
