Italy’s Group C opponents Croatia have been dealt a blow after Ivica Olic was ruled out of Euro 2012.

The forward, set to leave Bayern Munich for Wolfsburg this summer, sustained a thigh injury in a 1-1 draw with Norway on Sunday.

Olic, who scored past Gigi Buffon in Croatia’s 2002 World Cup win over the Azzurri, has been replaced in the squad by Dnipro’s Nikola Kalinic.

Olic, who is now 32, has scored 15 goals in 78 games for his country. Croatia will also face Spain and the Republic of Ireland in the group stages.

The player could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
