Domenico Criscito ‘will certainly stay in Russia’ this summer, as talks of a move from Zenit St Petersburg to Milan appear over.

The Italy international and his representative commented last week that talks with the Russians over a proposed move to Milan were ongoing.

However, amid speculation on the matter dying down, Criscito’s agent has commented that a move now appears unlikely.

“Criscito is definitely staying in Russia,” Andrea D’Amico has told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli this morning.

“[Zenit Coach Andre] Villas-Boas knows him very well, both from the technical and human points of view, and has no intention to deprive himself of the player, but rather to make him one of the cornerstones of the new team.

“Then, Zenit did not need the money, whilst they sell players only when they are no longer useful to the technical project.”
