Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina will be hoping to continue their cup heroics in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final clash against an ambitious Atalanta.

The match between the Viola and the Bergamo outfit kicks off at 20.00 UK time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Fiorentina have had to fight hard to reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia this term, winning penalty shootouts against Parma in the Round of 16 and Bologna in the quarter-finals. Last season, they reached the final of the cup, where they lost to Inter in a tight 2-1 showdown.

The Viola have a fully fit squad heading into the match, giving Italiano options across the pitch.

Atalanta have looked a little more decisive in their cup campaign, fighting hard to beat Sassuolo and Milan to reach the final four stage. Gian Piero Gasperini has come bitterly close to guiding the club to a Coppa Italia title twice in recent years, losing to Lazio and Juventus in the two finals.

La Dea cannot count on the injured Giorgio Scalvini and Charles De Ketelaere is also in doubt due to an adductor muscle issue.

When these two teams met back in September, Fiorentina edged out a 3-2 win over Atalanta. Their recent Serie A clash was postponed due to the tragic death of Viola CEO Joe Barone.
