Antonio Conte’s Tottenham exit seems to be a matter of time, as according to The Times, Spurs are working on a compensation deal for the Italian tactician.

The Telegraph reported on Monday night that Tottenham were expected to part ways with Conte by the end of the week following the coach’s explosive press conference on Saturday, after a 3-3 draw against Southampton.

Club sources denied to Gazzetta that they will take a decision about Conte soon, although this doesn’t mean the Italian tactician will be in charge after the international break.

As per The Times, in fact, Spurs are working on a compensation for the ex-Italy midfielder and his coaching staff who signed an 18-month deal in North London in November 2021.

Conte has now returned to Italy and according to the report, he spoke to Tottenham board members before his return to the Peninsula, trying to clarify his comments after last weekend’s draw.

Ryan Mason is in line to replace Conte as an interim coach until the end of the season, but Spurs are already working on Conte’s long-term successor from next summer with Mauricio Pochettino, Ange Postecoglou (Celtic), Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton & Hove Albion), Thomas Frank (Brentford) and Oliver Glasner (Eintracht Frankfurt) reportedly among their targets for 2023-24.
