La Gazzetta dello Sport quotes Tottenham sources saying the club won’t take a decision about Antonio Conte’s future soon.

The Telegraph reported on Monday night that Spurs had decided to sack the Italian tactician. The report claimed Tottenham would agree to Conte’s departure this week while the former Juventus, Inter and Italy captain was seen on a Ryanair flight heading back to Italy.

However, Tottenham sources who have spoken to Gazzetta ‘deny that a decision on Conte will be taken soon.’

Conte’s contract in North London expires at the end of the season, and it appears highly unlikely that he will be offered a new deal.

The Italian tactician has won 41 of his 76 games in charge of the Premier League side. Tottenham currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, two and seven points clear of Newcastle United and Liverpool respectively. However, both sides have two games in hand.

  1. He was very brave to go in there. I think spurs need rebuilding from top to bottom when it comes to mentality, clearing out the deadwood and putting in place a new structure and philosophy.

As for conte, I believe that deep down he regrets walking out on Inter. Yes, they didn’t give him the money he thought they needed to kick on but his spurs stint has most likely damaged his legacy.
