Manchester United had the chance to bring in Antonio Conte to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last year but they chose not to. The Tottenham coach now has the chance to show them what they’re missing.

The Italian coach’s time in North London has been a little inconsistent, with good results marred by lacklustre performances coming a week after. Tottenham now sit 7th in the Premier League table, tied on points with the Red Devils and West Ham, but with two games in hand.

Following Manchester United’s 5-0 loss to Liverpool back in October, many fans and pundits called for them to replace Solskjaer with Conte, who was still out of work following his Inter departure at the end of last season. The Norwegian coach held the job for another month, giving Spurs enough time to secure Conte’s signature.

The former Juventus and Chelsea coach has the opportunity to give Tottenham a significant boost in the race for a top four finish this season today at Old Trafford, leapfrogging Manchester United in the table and possibly making them regret not pushing to hire him.
