Antonio Conte will be on the sidelines for Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Brighton this afternoon after testing negative for COVID.
The Italian coach returned a positive test earlier this week but was asymptomatic and so the club were confident that he’d be available for today’s match against the Seagulls. Alasdair Gold reported that Conte returned a negative test yesterday and so will be able to both sit on the bench and take part in dressing room preparations as normal.
The former Inter coach could have travelled with the team today for the match but he chose to make his own way there as an extra precaution, not wanting to spread the virus to his team in the final weeks of the season.
Tottenham are now looking good to finish 4th in the Premier League this season, an impressive turnaround from Conte following the club’s poor start to the season under previous coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
