Brazil and Tottenham striker Richarlison is making headlines thanks to his brace against Serbia and Sky Sport Italia highlights his connections with Italian football.

The 25-year-old inspired Brazil’s 2-0 win in their debut at Qatar 2022 against Serbia, the team with the most Serie A players at the World Cup.

The Brazilian forward is a product of Real Noroeste and América Futebol Clube academies in Brazil and first moved to Europe in 2017 when Watford signed him for circa €12m.

As highlighted by Sky Sport Italia, Richarlison was spotted by the scouts of the English club owned by the Italian family Pozzo who have been running Serie A side Udinese since 1986. The Bianconeri are known for having one of the best scouting teams in the Peninsula and have used their expertise at Watford, which they acquired in 2012.

According to the report, Milan were also interested in the Brazilian talent at that time, but Warford were quicker to finalise an agreement.

Richarlison was signed by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham last summer, with Italian director Fabio Paratici wrapping up a €58m deal with Everton.

He has scored four goals in 16 appearances across all competitions this term and his contract in North London expires in June 2027.

4 thought on “Conte, Milan and more: Richarlison’s connections with Italian football”
  1. Richarlison to Serie A in the future.

He is Brazilian, they love Italy.

I see him at one of the Milan clubs one day.

    Let’s see

  2. ‘Serbia, the team with the most Serie A players at the World Cup’
That says something about the Level of Serie A unfortunately. With respect to Serbia of course. Had Italy qualified they would have been the nation with the most Serve A players.

  3. Serbia has their 2 best players unfit Vlahovic and Mitrovic its unfair to say Serie A isn’t good because Serbia lost to Brazil.

  4. What a stupid article. Guy scores in the World Cup, had a slice of pizza once, automatic article about Italy.

Have some courage and write about why Italy has failed horribly at the the last World Cups.
