The Italian tactician will see his contract expire in June 2022, but according to several reports in Italy he could decide to step down as Inter coach with one year remaining in his contract if the club fail to strengthen the team or sell some top players.

Yesterday, he met Inter CEOs Beppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello and vice president Javier Zanetti. Tomorrow he will hold showdown talks with President Steven Zhang.

According to the report, Conte is aware the Nerazzurri will not break the bank to purchase new players, but ‘he won’t accept steps back in terms of programming.’

The Italian tactician doesn’t want to see the top players leave the Giuseppe Meazza.

Lautaro Martinez, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar have reportedly attracted the interest of a few top clubs in Europe, but Conte considers them untouchable and doesn’t want them to leave.

According to Maca, however, Real Madrid and Atletico have already met the agent of the Argentinean striker.

Suning’s priority is to keep the books in order and a €275m financing from Oaktree Capital will help the Nerazzurri owners to keep the club running.
