Delio Rossi backs Antonio Conte to be Italy’s next Coach, and admits the task facing Max Allegri at Juventus won’t be easy.

Conte has been linked with replacing Cesare Prandelli in the Azzurro hotseat, following his surprise exit from Juve last week.

For one of his counterparts in Delio Rossi, the 44-year-old is more than ready for such an undertaking.

“Conte as CT? He was a great champion, he worked his way up as a Coach and led Juventus as best as he could,” former Palermo and Fiorentina boss Rossi has told RAI this week.

“He has everything to do very well with the national team.”

Rossi also reflected on the task facing Conte’s replacement in Turin, Allegri.

“At Juve you have to win, if you come second then you have lost.

“For Allegri to do as Conte has will not be easy, because behind the Bianconeri there are teams who will try to get stronger.”
