La Viola’s no.1 held a press conference today to announce the creation of Fiorentina’s new training centre in Bagno a Ripoli, a town just kilometres away from Florence.

“Joe Barone has been working on this project for over one year,” Commisso said.

“This project is entirely private, so you know the money spent on it belongs to the Commisso family. I am happy and proud to leave something nice for Florence. This is just an example of what Rocco can do.

“It will be Italy’s biggest sporting centre with more than 400 employers who will work there every day.

“The construction work will begin in January 2021 and end around Christmas of the same year. I’ll spend almost half the money Juventus invested to build their stadium.”

Commisso did also comment of Federico Chiesa’s recent transfer to Juve.

“I am disappointed,” he said.

“He hasn’t called me since he left, and I think neither me or my family deserved this treatment from him.”
