Amato Ciciretti calls it “an honour” to join up with Napoli for pre-season, where he aims to convince Carlo Ancelotti of his talents.

The Benevento player, who spent the second half of the season on loan with Parma, will sign on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be part of this Napoli, at least for pre-season,” Ciciretti said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“After that I don’t know what they’ll decide, it’s a great thing. I’ve reached this level a bit late because of my flaws, I matured a bit later than some others.

“I still need to prove that I can play for Napoli, but I’ll do my best to carve out a small space and stay in Azzurro.

“When I signed for Napoli my first thought was that I wanted to play there. It’s obvious that I have to prove to Ancelotti and everyone else that I’m ready to play for my chance.

“I’ve always said that if Napoli decide to loan me out then my first preference is Parma. I want to stay at Napoli, but if I can’t then Parma are the first choice.”
