Chelsea have reportedly changed their minds on Trevoh Chalobah, starting him today and warning Milan and Inter that he is no longer available.

It was a surprise to see Chalobah picked in the starting XI against Leicester City this afternoon, as the imminent arrival of Wesley Fofana from Leicester at over €80m ought to free him up to leave.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Premier League side have suddenly changed tack and decided Chalobah is staying.

It’s reported the player’s entourage informed both Milan and Inter that any negotiations for a loan with option to buy are going to be abandoned.

Instead, Inter have Francesco Acerbi locked down on loan from Lazio, while Milan are pushing for either Schalke 04 defender Malick Thiaw or Tottenham Hotspur talent Japhet Tanganga.

Both San Siro sides have been seeking a new defender all summer, but need to keep costs low and have therefore missed out on several targets already.

They want back-ups to their current first choices and cannot guarantee a starting spot.

  1. Keep Chelsea and PSG away from Italian football, they ruin it, they are tactically been destroying the league they are your rivals and the Italians can’t see it.
