Chelsea are offering €56m to take Alex Sandro from Juventus in January, according to The Mirror, anticipating Manchester United.

The Brazilian left-back had already been at the centre of a bidding war over the summer, with up to €70m rejected by Juve from Chelsea and Manchester City.

Now the situation has changed, as Alex Sandro’s performances this term have been a shadow of his former self, contributing one goal and five assists in 19 competitive games.

Now the situation has changed, as Alex Sandro’s performances this term have been a shadow of his former self, contributing one goal and five assists in 19 competitive games.

He turns 27 later this month and the Bianconeri are no longer determined to keep the former FC Porto man at all costs.

According to English newspaper The Daily Mirror, Chelsea have heard of Manchester United’s plans to go for Alex Sandro at the end of the season and are trying to anticipate them with a January swoop.

The offer on the table is believed to be worth £50m (approximately €56m), but that is considerably lower than the proposals they turned down only a few months ago.

They are more likely to wait until the summer, especially as Leonardo Spinazzola is a ready-made replacement whose loan deal with Atalanta expires in June.
