Chelsea have made a last-minute attempt to sign Denis Zakaria on loan with option to buy from Juventus, while Arthur Melo has completed his Liverpool medical.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more, the two clubs are in negotiations to get the deal over the line.

The Italian transfer deadline is at 20.00 UK time, but they can still sell after that and the Premier League window shuts at 23.00 UK time.

Zakaria only joined Juve in January from Borussia Monchengladbach at a cost of €8.6m.

The latest reports suggest that Zakaria is open to the move, knowing his playing time will be limited following the arrival of Leandro Paredes and Paul Pogba, plus the emergence of young talent Fabio Miretti.

The 25-year-old Switzerland international could well leave Turin after just 15 competitive appearances for Juventus, in which he scored one goal and contributed one assist.

It would be the second midfielder Juve have sent to the Premier League, as Arthur Melo has completed his medical and is set for a loan move to Liverpool.
