The Government decree orders all sporting events in Italy to be played behind closed doors until April 3 due to the Coronavirus outbreak, including Juventus-Lyon, Inter-Getafe and Roma-Sevilla.
There have now been over 3,000 positive cases in Italy, with 107 deaths, already 28 more fatalities than there were yesterday.
The Government decree orders all sporting events in Italy to be played behind closed doors until April 3 due to the Coronavirus outbreak, including Juventus-Lyon, Inter-Getafe and Roma-Sevilla.
There have now been over 3,000 positive cases in Italy, with 107 deaths, already 28 more fatalities than there were yesterday.
The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) have also now confirmed Serie A games will be played behind closed doors until at least April 3, or until the Government restrictions are lifted.
Curiously, the Lega Serie A has not yet made any sort of statement on the situation.
That will also affect other sporting events played in Italy, including the Six Nations rugby match against England in Rome, Serie B, Serie C and UEFA competition.
It means Juventus will have to host Lyon for the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie behind closed doors.
The Europa League fixtures Inter-Getafe and Roma-Sevilla are also therefore going to be played without any fans present.
Meanwhile, because the Government decree only starts from March 5, this evening the Serie B match between Spezia and Pescara is going ahead with a full crowd.
