John Carew will reportedly touch down in Milan later today ahead of a proposed move to Inter.

The club are looking for a new striker after Diego Milito was ruled out for the season and the Norwegian international can be signed outside of the transfer window as he is a free agent.

Carew, 33, hasn’t played top-level football since his contract at West Ham expired in the summer of 2012.

Carew, 24 goals in 91 international caps, is in talks with the Nerazzurri regarding a four-month contract that would see him net around €300,000.

The centre-forward’s fitness is set to be assessed by the Beneamata who will then ponder offering him a deal.

Carew, who has a playing past with clubs such as Rosenborg, Valencia and Lyon, spent the 2003-04 season at Roma.

He scored six goals in 20 Serie A games for the Giallorossi.
