Fabio Capello has warned Antonio Cassano to “sacrifice himself” for Milan and hopes the Qatar World Cup can be moved to winter.
The England manager has a chequered history with Cassano, from a strong rapport at Roma to a huge falling-out at Real Madrid. Now FantAntonio is aiming to revive his career again with Milan.
“Why has he never found the right balance in his clubs? This is something you should be asking him,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“Milan has always been an unusual place, where there is a certain type of football, mentality and tradition. I think this can help him. The environment demands each player sacrifice himself and is dedicated to the cause.”
One of Capello's players in the Rossoneri jersey was Leonardo, who has been appointed the new Coach at rivals Inter.
“Everyone makes the choices they consider to be right for their lives. Leonardo made an important decision and it was against the grain, but I wish him all the best. I asked for his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Milan and always had a great rapport with him.”
Capello was among those linked heavily with the Inter bench after Rafa Benitez parted company with the club.
“I have already been in charge of many sides and I think the England squad will be my last.”
With regards to the international scene, Capello joined the list of authority figures suggesting the 2022 World Cup in Dubai should be brought forward.
“It ought to be played in winter. The heat is going to be a huge problem and not just for the match situation.
“It won't be easy for the players to stay in the hotel all day, nor can they train in hotels. It won't be possible to walk around the area and relax. This is why it'd be a good idea to play in January or February.”
