Fabio Capello maintains Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Ajax and Benfica ‘don’t have the X-Factor’ required to reach the Champions League Final.

The former Milan, Real Madrid and England manager was speaking ahead of tonight’s Round of 16 games as his role on Sky Sport Italia.

“I liked Manchester United against Tottenham, but this is a completely different line-up this evening,” said Capello.

“I think their game with Atletico Madrid will be very finely balanced. Regardless, I don’t think any of the four teams playing tonight have the so-called X-Factor required to reach the Champions League Final.”

Manchester United and Atletico Madrid drew 1-1 in the first leg, while Ajax and Benfica shared a 2-2 result.

The away goals rule has been abolished in Europe this season, so if they are level on aggregate, the tie will be decided in extra time or even on penalties.
