Fabio Capello claims Silvio Berlusconi was wrong to criticise Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso and reveals he would like to return to Roma.

Berlusconi said he ‘didn’t like’ Gattuso’s football, urging the former Milan midfielder to adopt a 4-3-1-2 formation, while Capello led Roma to their last Scudetto in 2001.

“I’m with Gattuso,” continued the legendary Coach to Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Milan winning the Scudetto or Monza in Serie A first? They’re both on a par with each other.

“Milan still need something more to beat Juve, while Monza – knowing Berlusconi and Galliani – could reach Serie A in three years.

“Gattuso is giving mentality to Milan and awareness of their strengths, while Leonardo and Maldini are an important part of this project.

“I have good memories of Roma, both as a player and as a Coach. Returning? Now there are other people who can give more than me, given my age. Maybe as an advisor…”

The 72-year-old was also asked about Francesco Totti’s autobiography.

“I’ve read Totti’s book and it’s very good, although there should be some corrections!” he added.

“The story about me asking Totti ‘where are the girls’ in his hotel room? It’s true. And I’ll stop there!”
