Fabio Cannavaro wants to Coach Napoli one day as “a matter of the heart”.

The former centre-back is working in China, in charge of Tjanin Quajinian, but wants a Serie A bench in the future.

“I’m enjoying a fantastic experience here in China, I like being a Coach,” Cannavaro told Premium Sport.

“We were 10th in the table, now we’re second and three points off the top, the lads are doing something extraordinary.

“A future in Italy? That’s my ambition. Napoli, as a matter of the heart, would be something special but I’d also be proud to lead Juventus, Inter and Parma, my exes.

“For now I’ve had some offers, but not the right projects in Italy so for that reason I decided not to accept.”

Cannavaro also discussed the Champions League, in particular how his former clubs Napoli and Juventus will do this season.

“Playing in Ukraine is never easy [Napoli face Dynamo Kiev tonight], they had a targeted transfer campaign, although they lost an important player in [Gonzalo] Higuain who really scored a lot of goals last season.

“The team is still competitive though, they showed in Palermo that they’re good physically and tactically. That’s something important in view of tonight.

“As for Juventus, winning the Champions League is always difficult. [Max] Allegri has a great squad at his disposal.

“The distance to Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City has definitely narrowed.”
