Francesco Calvo explains Juventus expect to keep their points ‘forever’ but has regrets about Andrea Agnelli and Fabio Paratici.

Juventus’ 15-point penalty has been revoked pending a new trial, meaning the Old Lady have bounced back to the third spot in Serie A.

However, appeals from their ex-directors, including Fabio Paratici, now at Tottenham, have been rejected. Only Pavel Nedved, the former club’s vice president, has been cleared.

“Those days have been intense, but now we must focus on the game. We’ve been waiting today, which is never good, the verdict came late,” Calvo told Sky Sport Italia ahead of a Europa League clash against Sporting CP in Lisbon.

“We are satisfied but also regretful for directors such as Agnelli, Paratici, Cherubini and Arrivabene. There is solidarity for them, but we are satisfied with the table and us. Now we have certainties and we expect that these points will remain forever.”

A new trial will now take place, but there is also another case opened that concerns the so-called ‘salary manoeuvres’ which could lead to another penalty for the Serie A giants. Calvo was asked when the saga will be over, but the Bianconeri director had no certainties.

“It’s premature also because we haven’t received the motivations, they have 30 days of time to publish them, and it’s impossible to know certain dynamics without knowing the motivations.

“We are convinced we have not committed any wrongdoing,” he continued. “The first verdict was in January and we’ve always kept the dialogue open with the utmost respect.”
