A Turkish Tv interviewed him upon his arrival in Istanbul, and Calhanoglu opened up on a possible move to Galatasaray.

“I hope to play for Galatasaray in the future. Why not? I got a lion tattoo because I cheer for Galatasaray,” the 27-year-old said.

The Turkey international will see his contract expire at the end of the season, but the Rossoneri are confident to reach an agreement over the next few weeks.

The player’s agent met the club’s directors last month, but there is still a gap between their offer and his economic demands.

Many clubs have been linked with a move for the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, including Juventus and Manchester United.
