“The number of my shirt? I still need to think about it.”

Caldara is expected to form a partnership with Romagnoli at Milan, with the duo widely viewed as two of Italian football’s finest young defenders.

“Pairing up with Romagnoli will be exciting.”

The centre-back will now undergo a medical at Milan's Madonnina clinic before being officially unveiled as a Rossoneri player.

He joins Gonzalo Higuain in making the move from Turin to San Siro, with Leonardo Bonucci moving in the opposite direction.
