The Old Lady have returned to the competition for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign when they failed to get out of a group containing Bordeaux, Bayern Munich and Maccabi Haifa.

“I’ll be happy to hear the Champions League theme tune again,” he stated. “I’ve had to listen to it from my sofa over these years and I didn’t think that was right.”

The Scudetto holders will start their European Cup adventure with a trip to holders Chelsea on September 19. They will also face Shakhtar Donetsk and Nordsjaelland in Group E.

Buffon, who lost the 2002-03 Champions League Final to Milan, also spoke about his future in Turin.

“That’s the last of my problems,” the man whose deal expires in June 2013 stated. “I’ve already said that I’m in no rush.”

Both Buffon and Juventus have admitted a desire to prolong their relationship.
