The Italy and Juventus goalkeeper is in contention with Iker Casillas, Thibaut Courtois, Claudio Bravo and Ballon d’Or candidate Manuel Neuer.
From the five ‘keepers, one will be selected to make the FIFA FIFPro World XI for 2014, which will be determined by a vote among the players.
Defenders, midfielders and forwards eligible for this year’s vote will be announced in the coming days.

Buffon’s inclusion on the World XI shortlist makes him the only goalkeeper to have been included at this stage for each of the 10 years since the award’s introduction in 2005.
