Gigi Buffon was voted Best Goalkeeper of 2014 in the Gran Gala del Calcio. “The Champions League draw could’ve been worse.”

The Juventus shot-stopper won the award ahead of Inter’s Samir Handanovic and former Napoli man Pepe Reina, as voted by the AIC – the Italian Players’ Association.

“Retirement? When the moment comes, and it hasn’t yet, I will be the first to acknowledge it,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Buffon was also asked about the Champions League draw, which has put Juve against Borussia Dortmund.

“It’s an honest draw. It could’ve gone better, it could’ve also gone worse. The challenge with Borussia will tell us who we are and at what level we are right now. It’s something we all care about very much.

“We will face this test with great determination.”
