Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon is close to setting a new record for the longest undefeated goalkeeping run in Serie A.

Keeping Atalanta at bay, the 38-year-old has now gone 836', or nine games, without conceding a goal in Serie A.

He is currently third in the all-time record, after Dino Zoff's 1972-73 run of 903' for Juventus and Sebastiano Rossi's 1993-94 run of 929' for Milan.

This means that if the Old Lady's next game against Sassuolo lasts at least 94' minutes and Buffon doesn't concede a goal, he will have established a new all-time record in Serie A.
