Marcelo Brozovic demands €2m more than Inter are willing to offer, but the two parties are set to negotiate next week with the aim to continue together.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports a distance of about €2m between the offer from the Nerazzurri and the demands of the Croatia international.

But the club is not ready to part ways with the influential midfielder and the have scheduled an appointment to meet with the player’s representatives.

The newspaper claims there’s a common desire to reach an agreement the two parties are expected to meet between Wednesday and Thursday to take the first steps towards the final handshake.

Brozovic turns 29 in November and the former Dinamo Zagreb player’s contract at Inter expires in June 2022. The report claims he demands €6m to stay at the club, while Inter are currently offering €4m a season.

He arrived in January 2015, initially on a paid loan, before making a permanent switch for a total of €8m.

Brozovic, capped 67 times by Croatia, has since established himself as a vital player at San Siro, appearing in 251 competitive games with the Beneamata, scoring 25 goals in the process.
