Gleison Bremer is ready to return to action for Juventus in their Derby d’Italia clash against Inter, a team he was only a step away from joining this summer.

The 25-year-old Brazilian centre back was clearly out the door at Torino earlier this year and seemed to be the Nerazzurri’s primary option to strengthen their backline, with the club’s directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio desperately working to secure his signature for months.

A verbal agreement had been reached but Inter were slow to act in the summer, prioritising the return of Romelu Lukaku and allowing other transfer targets like Bremer and Paulo Dybala to slip away. Juventus eventually came in for the 25-year-old, quickly picking up the Brazilian to replace  Matthijs de Ligt.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Bremer was only a step away from joining Inter in the summer and could now become a painful regret for the Nerazzurri should he impress on his Juventus return in tonight’s Derby d’Italia.

The 25-year-old Brazilian defender is been one of the few bright spots in the Juventus squad this season and his return will give Massimiliano Allegri a key defensive boost, something much needed considering the team’s issues when facing the forward lines of top teams.

  1. Pointless statement. If you haven’t got the money, you can’t really regret anything. Might as well say “I regret not buying a trip on Besos’ ship”.

  2. Bremer made a huge mistake. But like all things in life there is time to rectify that. He won’t be at Newcastle B for much longer and will seek a transfer to a big club. Like his predecessor he will soon get tired of the hexagon.
