Milan attacker Brahim Diaz said Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘is the same age as my father but continues to make a difference’.

The Real Madrid loanee has impressed in his first months with the Rossoneri and revealed the 39-year-old Swede helps him develop by ‘demanding a lot’

“He is the same age as my father, but he continues to make a difference,” Brahim told Movistar+. “He shows that there’s no age in football.

“We have a great bond; he gives me good advice and we get along very well. We are talking about a winner.

“Doing your part is not enough, you always have to work harder with him. He says: ‘You’re not done yet, now you have abdominals with me’. He demands a lot, and you improve a lot.”

Brahim has appeared eight times across all competitions with Milan this term, scoring three goals and contributing one assist since his move from the Spanish capital.

“I have minutes on the pitch. In Madrid, I felt very good, but now I’m giving the best of my football, showing what I can contribute.

“It’s much easier here, because I love football.”

The 21-year-old said he enjoys his time in Milan and feels he has adjusted to his new life in Italy.

“I’m focused on Milan and here I’m doing my best,” he added. “The city is very beautiful, with super friendly people.

“You have to be protected at home, even if we train and travel all day. I’m very happy to be in Italy, I have adapted quickly.”

Milan sit top of Serie A after seven games and the Spain U21 international hopes to continue the great run after the international break.

“We are in the lead, the team are competitive,” he said. “We are strong and we have to continue with this dynamic.”
