Bournemouth are working on completing a deal for Roma full back Matias Vina and are only a step away from confirming his arrival, reports detail.

The Premier League club approached the Giallorossi last week to discuss a deal for the 25-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s squad. During these talks, Bournemouth also tried to complete a deal for unhappy forward Nicolo Zaniolo, but failed to convince him of the move.

As reported by TMW, Bournemouth are now ready to complete the deal for Vina, paying €750,000 for the loan deal, which comes with a €15m buy option.

Roma picked up the Uruguayan full back from Palmeiras in August 2021 for €13m. Contracted to the club until June 2026, he has failed to match expectations in the Italian capital and only made three Serie A appearances this campaign.

The Giallorossi are reportedly looking at Leeds United’s Diego Llorente as a possible replacement.
