Genoa are confident that Marco Borriello will be fit enough to face former club Roma this weekend.

The striker, who moved from the Giallorossi on transfer deadline day, has been struggling with muscle fatigue.

However, sporting director Stefano Capozucca expects the former Milan and Juventus player to start the game.

“There is a 99.9 per cent chance that he will be available against the Giallorossi,” the official commented.

“I have great faith in him and he’ll certainly be part of the game. It will be a tough match, but we are ready to get a result.”

Capozucca also defended the performances of Under-21 international Ciro Immobile who has ‘only’ scored two goals in seven games.

“You can’t criticise Ciro. He’s delivered more than what was expected. He’s a golden boy, a humble one with a great work ethic.”
