The benched Marco Borriello maintains that he would be happy for Vincenzo Montella to be confirmed as Roma boss for next season.

The Italian striker has lost his centre-forward place to veteran Francesco Totti in the side since Montella's appointment, but Borriello insists all is well.

"If he was to be kept on as Coach for next season then I would be the first to be happy for him," he told Leggo.

"I believe in Montella and I speak to him often. I can feel the belief and admiration that he has for me.

Borriello joined the Giallorossi last summer from Milan, in a loan move which Roma have an obligation to make permanent this summer.

The Azzurri international did impress initially under the tutelage of Claudio Ranieri, but he's been less effective since the Tinkerman was axed.
