Milan President Silvio Berlusconi maintains “I deserve to have a stadium named after me considering everything I've won with this club.”

The patron, who is also Italy's Prime Minister and a media magnate, saved the Rossoneri from bankruptcy in 1986 and recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of that takeover.

“We'll only talk about the Scudetto when it is already sewn on to the shirt,” he said on television show Porta a Porta.

“If it does happen, then it will be the 27th big trophy Milan have won under my tenure. We are already the most successful club in the world and made me the President who has won more than any other in history.

“After me, the President who won the most was the great Santiago Bernabeu of Real Madrid.

“The Spanish named a stadium after him. I think I deserve having the stadium in Milan named after me.”

That would not sit well with Inter supporters, who share the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, also known as San Siro.

Under Berlusconi, Milan have won seven Scudetti, five European Cups/Champions League trophies, three Intercontinental Cups/Club World Cups five European Super Cups, one Coppa Italia and five Italian Super Cups.
