Now L’Équipe is reporting that Bordeaux are interested in bringing the former Paris Saint-Germain player back to France, but his €2.5m annual wages are problematic.

Menez is therefore focused on other options, namely Monaco and Marseille, both of whom are more likely to be able to afford his wages.

L’OM are thought to be willing to offer €2m per season, but that would be dependent on the player resolving his contract with Milan, as they won’t pay a transfer fee.

Monaco would have no problem in paying what the Diavolo are asking, but they’d have to sell attacking players before they could buy.
