Reports have circulated in recent weeks that Manchester United and Bayern Munich were interested in signing the 31-year-old, with Milan under pressure to sell after failure to qualify for the Champions League.

However, Bonucci has moved to quash the rumours and hopes the San Siro club can build strongly for the next campaign.

“There isn’t any kind of problem,” the centre-back told Sky Sport when asked about the Rossoneri's reported financial uncertainty. “Let’s hope the rumours that are circulating are resolved.

“We want to build something important.

“We are definitely aiming to get back in the Champions League, to get back on track and compete for big targets.”

Bonucci is tipping Argentina to emerge victorious at this summer’s World Cup, although he is still disappointed Italy will not feature at the tournament.

“I think Argentina will win it, although I will miss the first matches.

“When I get back to Italy I will catch up with it. It’s a shame we are not at the World Cup.”
