Bologna are left with hardly any options upfront after Joshua Zirkzee joined Marko Arnautovic on the treatment table, so they might look to Musa Barrow following his failed move to Galatasaray.

The Rossoblu are struggling with fitness concerns this season and the situation is only intensifying ahead of this weekend’s match against Monza.

Zirkzee had been standing in for their top scorer Arnautovic during the last few weeks, but he has been diagnosed with a Grade I lesion of the long adductor in his right leg.

The former Bayern Munich man is expected to be out of action for circa three weeks.

Also out of action are Adama Soumaoro, Nicola Sansone, Kevin Bonifazi and suspended Jhon Lucumi.

Arnautovic is back in the squad, but certainly not fit enough for a place in the starting XI.

Gary Medel returns and could feature with Lorenzo De Silvestri.

It is therefore likely that Bologna will start Barrow, who until a few days ago was on the verge of a move to Galatasaray, before the Turkish club changed tack and signed Nicolò Zaniolo from Roma instead.
