Bojan Krkic has underlined that he hasn’t been signed by Milan to fill the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Spaniard has joined the Rossoneri on loan from Roma after the Diavolo opted to sell the Swede to Paris Saint-Germain.

“I’m not here to replace him,” the forward told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “There are a lot of us in attack.

“Ibrahimovic is a great, but we are very different. He is two metres tall, while I’m 1.60m. We have different qualities.

“I’ve had the good fortune to get to know Ibrahimovic at Barcelona. As well as being a great, he has an enormous heart.”

Bojan opted to try his luck in Italian football with Roma last season after struggling for playing time at the Camp Nou.

“I never thought I’d leave Barca, I couldn’t imagine that,” he added. “I was nine when I joined and I was there for 12 years.

“But I thank God for giving me the opportunity to move to Italy. Roma opened my eyes to another world.

“Italian football in crisis? I don’t think so. It’s very tactical and there is great attention placed on the defensive side of the game.

“It’s not easy to play here, but I’m happy with my progress.”

Bojan has been handed the No 22 shirt at San Siro – a number previously worn by Kaka. “It’s not the first ‘heavy’ number I have been given,” he underlined.

“I had the No 9 at Barcelona which had belonged to Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Johan Cruyff. I’m not particularly tied to numbers anyway and chose the 22 because I joined Milan on my 22nd birthday.”
