Halfway through a two-year technically-assembled loan deal from Barcelona, the Spanish international has attracted a fair amount of speculation as to the certainty of his destination for 2012-13.

With Malaga the latest club rumoured to be considering a bid for him, the forward has come out to offer his own comment.

“The interest from Malaga makes me happy,” admitted the 21-year-old to Europa Press earlier this week.

“I’m glad to know that big clubs are interested in me. It means I have had a good season and have improved.”

However, and even as he appeared unaware of Zdenek Zeman’s then imminent appointment at the club, the youngster still indicated that he is focused on the likelihood of staying in Serie A for another year.

“In theory I have one year left on this contract. We’ll see who the new Coach is for next year.

“I’m very calm because I have this extra year. It is another way of seeing football, and I’m only 21 and playing in Italy I have done well in the last part of the season.”
