Bodo/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen has detailed the alleged attack from Roma goalkeeping trainer Nuno Santos: ‘He grabbed me by the neck and pushed me to the wall.’

Roma and Bodo/Glimt’s rivalry continues to grow off the pitch as the Norwegian club claims Roma goalkeeping trainer Nuno Santos attacked their coach Kjetil Knutsen after the final whistle.

The Giallorossi captain Lorenzo Pellegrini accused the Norwegians’ coach of having attacked Nuno Santos first, but Bodo/Glimt offered a different version of the incident, saying that their boss reacted to a physical attack from José Mourinho’s staff member.

They alleged that Nuno Santos’ attack was proved by a video watched by the club and UEFA and expects the European football governing body to take action against the Giallorossi after last night’s incident.

Bodo/Glimt: ‘A video proves Roma goalkeeping trainer attacked our coach’

Knutsen detailed the alleged attack from Nuno Santos in an official statement published by the club on their official website.

“Everything culminated in a physical attack on me in the player tunnel,” the 53-year-old said.

“Usually, I would withdraw. In this case, I was physically attacked. He [Nuno Santos] grabbed me by the neck and pushed me to the wall. It is only natural that I then had to defend myself. The intimidating behaviour we experienced during yesterday’s match has nothing to do with a football stadium,” the coach added.

Bodo/Glimt are unbeaten in three games against Roma this season and will visit the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico in the decider of the Conference League quarter-finals next week.
