“He certainly deserves to play for a big team. He’s an important individual who is starting to confirm himself.”

Bocchetti, 25, was born in Naples and he has been associated with a move to his hometown outfit in the past.

“The reality is that Napoli have never asked me for him, so it’s not worth talking about them if they are not interested,” responded D’Amico.

The stopper has won five Italian caps.
