Former Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi will reportedly buy as much as 95 percent of Serie C side Monza.
Berlusconi seemed to have agreed a deal for 70%, but ANSA claims the 80-year-old has upped his offer by 25%, leaving the Colombo family with just 5%.
His takeover is expected to be announced on September 29 – his 82nd birthday – with Monza’s management headed by long-time aide Adriano Galliani.
The northern minnows won their League opener on Sunday and have a 106-year history without ever playing in the top flight.
