Gianluigi Buffon has travelled with Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool for their Champions League opener at Anfield, despite being suspended.
Buffon is starting the first of a three-match ban for his confrontation with referee Michael Oliver during Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid last season.
Fellow Italian Marco Verratti is also banned but, unlike the 40-year-old, has not made the trip to Merseyside, as hasn’t former Juventus right-back Dani Alves.
