Domenico Berardi is reportedly ready to put pen to paper on a new contract with Sassuolo, confirming his long-term future at the club.

The 28-year-old Italian winger’s current deal expires with the Neroverdi in 2024 and he entered the summer transfer window as the subject of rumour, with clubs like Juventus and Roma both keen to pick him up. Ultimately, a move away from Sassuolo never came for Berardi and now he’s ready to commit his future to the team.

As detailed by TMW, Berardi has agreed a new five-year contract with Sassuolo, worth around €3m net per season, which’ll tie him to the club until 2027. An official confirmation is expected at some point in the coming weeks.

The Euro 2020 seemed to flirt with the idea of a move away from the Neroverdi earlier in the summer, telling magazine Chi that “I like living in Modena and have been here for 11 years, but I’ve reached a point where I’d struggle less with change thanks to my wife and my son, as with them I’d feel at home in any city.”

Berardi has made 327 appearances across all competitions for Sassuolo so far, scoring 121 goals and providing 84 assists.

  1. He will sink his career once for all. He should wait for his contract to run out and look another club. Anyway, he is not that good
