According to Tuttosport newspaper, Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi is Milan‘s primary target for the summer.

The Italy international has already reached double figures for goals and assists this season and has attracted interest from many clubs, including the Rossoneri and Napoli.

According to Tuttosport, Berardi is Milan’s main target for the summer, when Paolo Maldini will try to bring a new right winger in the red and black half of Milan. Berardi will turn 28 in August and his contract with Sassuolo expires in June 2024.

He seemed on the verge of leaving for Fiorentina last summer, but the Tuscans’ offer was not high enough for Sassuolo. Berardi now seems ready for a new step in his career.

“Berardi is one of the best Italian footballers at the moment, maybe the best one,” Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali said in February.

“He may have the ambition to join a top club and we’ll make our assessments with him once we receive an offer. Fiorentina did make their move, but it was not enough and perhaps Berardi needs a top club.”

According to the report, Sassuolo will be looking for a sale in the region of €30-35m over the summer. It remains to be seen how much Milan will offer for the Italy international given that the Rossoneri also need a new central midfielder, a centre-back and another centre forward to strengthen Stefano Pioli’s team in 2022-23.
